About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and talented Windows and Linux System Administrator, who will be managing and maintaining operating system environments. They shall configure, monitor, and optimize system performance, ensure security through updates and patches, and troubleshoot issues. They also manage user accounts, permissions, and backups, providing essential support to ensure stable and efficient IT operations In this role, you will collaborate with product designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver. You should have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a knack for simplifying complex tasks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our design systems, ensuring a seamless user experience across all web projects.

What You’ll Do:

System Installation and Configuration:

• Install, configure, and maintain both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Ensure system and server configurations comply with security policies and best practices. 

Server Management:

• Manage and administer servers running Windows Server and various Linux distributions.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.

User Account Management:

• Create, modify, and delete user accounts as per access requirements.
• Implement and enforce security policies for user authentication and access control.

Patch Management:

• Apply patches, updates, and service packs to both Windows and Linux systems to address security vulnerabilities and enhance performance.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
• Test and verify backups regularly to ensure data integrity.

Network Administration:

• Configure and maintain network settings, including DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize network performance.

Security Management:

• Implement and enforce security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and potential threats.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Set up monitoring tools to track system performance, resource utilization, and security incidents.
• Generate regular reports on system health, performance, and security.

Collaboration and Documentation:

• Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to address cross-functional issues.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Technical Support:

• Provide technical support to end-users and assist with problem resolution. • Respond to incidents and service requests in a timely manner.

Skills & Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a system administrator, with expertise in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and security best practices.
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task scheduling.
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Linux Professional Institute Certification) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
