Prepare CSV File

Before uploading CSV file, make sure that the file is properly formatted otherwise, the system will not allow you to proceed further. Ensure the column headers match the field names in NetSuite.

Getting Started

To begin the CSV import process in NetSuite, Go to Setup à Import/Export à Import CSV Records. You will navigate to “Import Assistant” page.

Scan and Uploading CSV File

Select the category of record from the ‘Import type’ Dropdown list. Choose the ‘Record Type’ you want to import. It supports importing various record types like Customers, Contacts, Items, Transactions, etc. Click on the "Choose File" button to upload the CSV file from your computer.

Specify Import Options

Select “Import Options.” Based on the requirement, choose appropriate option and choose the required ‘Advanced options’

• Add - Select if all imported records are new to NetSuite.
• Update - Select if all imported records already exist in NetSuite, and the import is to modify these records.
• Add or Update - Select if imported records are a mixture of new and existing records.

Mapping Fields

In the “File Mapping” Step, you can See on left side of the page with the CSV file Fields and on the Right-side with NetSuite fields, the system will automatically map the fields from your CSV file to the corresponding fields in NetSuite, you may need to manually adjust mappings if they are incorrect.

Save Mapping and Start Import

In the ‘Import Map name’ field, enter a name that you can use as a reference when tracking the Import’s progress and provide a ‘Description ‘of this import and give the Script ID, then save.
